An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Procurement Team as an Assistant Buyer, hybrid working, based in Darlington, on a permanent basis. This role can also operate in a fully remote capacity, depending on where you live.

**The role**

An Assistant Buyer will be responsible for providing Support to the Procurement Operational team. The role will ensure ERP system support across the whole of Railpen services spend. The future incumbent will manage the full end-to end process within all categories on an ERP system, including the review and approval of requisitions, creating and maintaining supplier accounts and creating reports.

Other responsibilities include but not limited to are: buying, administering the supplier on-boarding process and building and maintaining relationships with appropriate suppliers and stakeholders.

**The person**

We are looking for a passionate individual who is self-directed and can take ownership of tasks through to delivery. You will have demonstrable experience of providing support to internal stakeholders and managing supplier relationships. We are looking for someone with exceptional communication skills who is pragmatic in their approach whilst ensuring the supplier on-boarding due diligence process is administered, analysed, recorded and retained. Having/ working towards a CIPS (or equivalent) qualification or working towards it would be a distinct advantage, but is not essential.
