**An opportunity to join our team as an Apprentice**

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic and proactive apprentice to join the Front of House Team in the St Albans

Office of this highly regarded Commercial Law Firm which prides itself on its professional ethos and collegiate working environment.

You will assist in the delivery of exceptional client experience by providing general reception/ hospitality support and assist with core administrative support to all departments within the business.

**The Location**
- The apprentice will mainly be based in our St Albans office but will be expected, as and when required, to visit our London Office.

**The Role**
- Being the first point of contact for our clients, greeting clients in a courteous and professional manner; always striving to go above and beyond.
- Answer and direct incoming phone calls to the appropriate person.
- Diary management of meeting rooms.
- Organise and co-ordinate car parking spaces for both visitors and staff.
- Manage the reception area, meeting rooms and kitchen to ensure they are always clean and presentable.
- Handle incoming and outgoing mail, packages and deliveries.
- Regular stock takes of stationery and sundries to ensure appropriate levels are maintained, placing weekly kitchen supply orders as required.
- Responding to general requests in a timely manner, providing support to other teams as required
- Faults and repairs -supporting the Front of House and Office Manager to organise decorators, engineers and more.
- Act as the first point of contact in relation to faulty refreshment equipment (e.g. coffee machines) and liaise with engineers (e.g. for printers).
- Supporting the Front of House and Office Manager to liaise with our landlord and work quickly to resolve any issues at the building.
- Supporting the Partners and teams in general office tidy up, and various admin tasks.
- Working closely with all suppliers to ensure the smooth running of the business.
- Be able to handle complaints or issues promptly and maintain our high standard of guest care and service.
- Organise Firm lunches and adhoc projects supporting Firm and client events.

**Desired skills**
- **4-9 grades English and maths GCSE's**:

- Confident with excellent communication skills.
- Good attention to detail
- Good working knowledge of ICT packages including Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Ability to demonstrate or gain a clear understanding of the firm’s in-house systems where training will be given
- Excellent presentation, organisation and timekeeping skills
- Awareness of confidentiality and safeguarding
- The ability to use own initiative, be able to work individually as well as part of a team
- Must be well-presented with a clear, pleasant telephone manner
- Good organisational skills
- Good client care skills

**Training to be provided**

Course content:

- Utilising IT programs and software

- Understanding the organisation and stakeholders
- Relevant regulations and policies
- Business fundamentals
- Professionalism and performance management

You will complete the Level 3 Business Administrator Apprenticeship Standard:

- This apprenticeship will involve off the job training
- You will also develop your knowledge, skills and behaviours
- You need to have an employer to support your apprenticeship and be employed in a relevant job role
- The typical length of this apprenticeship course is 18 months
- This course has multiple start dates throughout the year
- Functional skills if needed
