**Job summary**:
We are looking for an Information Compliance Officer to join our Parliamentary Knowledge and Information Office at the House of Lords. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with good knowledge of data protection legislation and experience of handling FOI/EIR requests, who is keen to use their expertise to advise and support multiple stakeholders. The work that you do will ensure compliance with legislation and best practice, through your contribution to relevant policies, processes and sharing of knowledge with others.

This is an opportunity to work on a hybrid basis where you will be able to work up to 3 days a week from home and 2 days on-site at Parliament This is a unique position for someone who possesses strong communication skills and enjoys working as part of a small team whilst liaising with a wide range of colleagues, and within a fast-paced, dynamic working environment.

**Job description**:
**You’ll be accountable for **_- _
- coordinating the day-to-day request process, which includes monitoring team inboxes, ensuring requests are acknowledged promptly and tracked, and drafting and sending responses to FOI, EIR and data protection requests.
- responding to and providing expert advice in answering FOI, data protection and environmental information enquiries
- contributing to policies and procedures on information security issues and the accreditation of IT solutions, in liaison with the Information Security Team and House of Commons Information Compliance Team
- supporting the Head of Information Compliance in completing Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) for projects and IT solutions that are processing personal data.
- supporting the network of House of Lords Information Security Co-ordinators by keeping them informed of developments, new policies and procedures and supporting them with reviewing and updating records of personal data processing.

**Person specification**:
**What we’re looking for **_- _
- A qualification in a relevant information compliance field (such as an FOI Practitioner or UK GDPR Practitioner certificate), or equivalent relevant experience with a willingness to undertake a qualification.
- **
Information compliance**: Experience of successfully handling information compliance requests and issues and proven knowledge of information legislation, including FOI, EIR and data protection.
- **
Policies and procedures implementation**: Proven experience of implementing new information compliance and security-related policies and procedures in a complex organisation.
- **
Managing information risk**: Proven understanding of information security and information risk mitigation activities from a compliance perspective.
- **
Communication skills**:Excellent written and spoken communication and influencing skills, high quality drafting skills and attention to detail.
- **
Working under pressure**:Tact and** **discretion, with the ability to work effectively in a high-pressure environment.
- **
Team working skills**:Proven experience of supporting and working effectively in a team.
