The post holder will work within a large Orthoptic services that forms part of a Ophthalmic multi-disciplinary team based at the Birmingham and Midland eye Centre (BMEC) City Hospital, Midland Metropolitan University Hospital and working across acute and community sites including Sandwell Hospital and clinics. They will also undertake Primary Vision Screening and Special needs services based in Special schools.

The post holder will be part of the team of Advanced Practitioners providing Stroke services based at Sandwell Hospital.

Highly specialist Orthoptic investigation, diagnosis and management of a wide range of ophthalmic patients using evidence based practice.

Active participation in the assessment and management of highly complex patients attending A&E and Stroke services.

Involvement in clinical audit and research.

Participate in the clinical tuition of undergraduate Orthoptists, post graduate Optometrists and Medical staff.
