Chemotherapy Day Unit Administrator

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Chemotherapy Day Unit Department for a highly efficient administrator who can support the patient flow through the Day Unit.

We are looking for an individual who is flexible and enthusiastic as well as being resourceful, who has experience in working within a NHS hospital setting.

You will be able support the day unit with a range of administrative duties which includes reception duties, greeting patients on their arrival, inputting admissions, discharges, waiting list entries on the patient administration systems such as PAS/Cerner and manage new referrals to the service which includes; booking appointments, recording data and communication with patients

You will need to be organised, efficient and accurate and be able to prioritise work.

You will need to have experience of managing all office based administration, including effective and appropriate letter writing skills. Possess excellent customer services skills including telephone and face to face contact with patients and their families.

You should have the ability to think calmly and logically under pressure and have a positive attitude to maintaining high standards at all times. You will be quick to learn, be able to work as part of a team and also possess the ability to work unsupervised using your own initiative.

If you have proven experience of the above, in a busy fast paced role this could be the job for you.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage new referral in timely manner facilitating access to clinical investigations as needed
- Scheduling of patients chemotherapy appointments
- Provide a reception service including greeting visitors and patients and advising appropriate nursing team of arrival
- Prepare, run and cash up clinics and ensure that all case notes, test results, x-rays, report etc. are available before the commencement of daily service.
- Manage waiting list entries and bookings for the service
