**We are currently seeking an analytical policy professional to join our Westminster based team supporting the development and communication of a broad range of small business-related policy issues particularly in relation to net zero, energy and infrastructure. You will have the opportunity to undertake primary research and develop published policy reports to be used across the FSB network.**

**What will you do?**:

- Have policy experience gained from working in one of the following: a lobbying or campaigning organisation, a charity, a think tank or consultancy, a UK political party, the UK Civil Service/Parliament, Local Government, or a membership organisation.
- Have a clear interest in net zero policy and how to ensure that small businesses in the UK are a central part of the transition to a sustainable economy.
- Draft clear and concise documents, including briefings, consultations and in-house research reports.
- The post holder will be a lead point of contact for relevant policy work emanating from the DfT, DEFRA, DESNZ and other relevant departments and agencies. Working closely with other policy leads particularly those in devolved nations.
- Maintain a keen awareness of political and legislative developments in the UK, and identifying their impact on small businesses, proactively in responding to these developments as appropriate.

**Who are we looking for?**:

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
- Demonstrable interest and/or experience in public policy/business policy/sustainability policy/infrastructure policy.
- Ability to manage different work activities or workstreams to keep projects on track.

**Job details**:

- 35 hours per week
