**What you’ll do**

The role of Dementia Advisor will provide support to local communities to help them become more dementia-friendly and to increase their capacity to support those living with dementia. You will take referrals and screen them as appropriate and act as a resource for people with dementia, their carers and family members as needed throughout their illness, helping them navigate the system of health and social care and facilitating their access to services and support.

This will include running Memory Café sessions on a monthly basis for people with dementia and their carers/ supporters and other activities where you will evaluate and monitor the service.

**What you need**

You will need experience of successful working in a community care setting or policy role with an understanding of identifying, understanding and representing the views of people from vulnerable and excluded groups and able to identify, understand and represent the views of people affected by dementia. You will also be successful in arranging group work with vulnerable adults and their carers.
