**The role**:
This is an exceptional opportunity for a person who loves fluid mechanics. Energy will continue to be the critical technology underpinning modern society. You would work with exceptionally strong multidisciplinary groups where energy is treated as an integrated whole.

The Electrical Engineering Research Group's core research lies in the fields of electro-mechanical and power electronics energy conversion, energy systems and advanced control. The group is well-integrated with industry and you would extend its capabilities to cooling and the exploitation of heat in energy systems.

The Energy Management and Flow Academic Team provides education in all of the School's undergraduate programmes as well as postgraduate education. It is progressive, innovative, prize-winning, and committed to team working.

**What will you be doing?**:

- In this role you would practise fluid mechanics to expand the frontiers of knowledge, educate students, and make a lasting impact.
- You will work with other members of the research group and the School and University to conceive, fund, and carry out research projects.
- You will undertake a wide range of teaching activities including modern delivery methods and student projects.
- You should be passionate about high quality teaching in a range of contexts.
- You will work with other members of the academic team to deliver modern, innovatory teaching and will have a central, leading role in shaping fluid mechanics teaching.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone grounded in fluid mechanics and who wishes to develop this through their career.
- You should have a PhD in mechanical, mechanical-electrical, chemical engineering or equivalent.
- We require someone who is flexible, reliable, and able to work well in teams.
- You should be able to build strong relationships with stakeholders within and beyond the University.
