**Role Title Internal Communications Advisor (Inside IR35)**
**Contract Term:12 month**
**Contracting Authority: NDA**
**Location: Hybrid 2-3 day per week office working days**
The Nuclear Decommissioning Authority (NDA) is a non-departmental public body created through the Energy Act 2004.
We have 5 offices across the UK, in Cumbria, Dounreay, Harwell, Warrington and London. We have 17 sites including the first fleet of nuclear power stations, research centres, fuel-related facilities, and Sellafield, which has the largest radioactive inventory and the most complex facilities to decommission.
We are sponsored by the Department for Business, Energy, and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) and supported by Dounreay, Magnox, Nuclear Waste Services, Nuclear Transport Solutions and Sellafield. The Scottish government also has a governance role, working closely with BEIS to ensure its expectations are met.
Our role is strategic: we establish the overall approach, allocate budgets, set targets and monitor progress.
We do not have a hands-on role in cleaning up our facilities. Instead, we deliver our mission through others, primarily 12 businesses.
**We are responsible for**:
- decommissioning and cleaning up these nuclear facilities ensuring that all waste products, both radioactive and non-radioactive, are safely managed.
- implementing policy on the long-term management of nuclear waste.

- scrutinising the decommissioning plans of EDF Energy, who own the operating fleet of Advanced Gas Cooled Reactor (AGR) nuclear power stations.

- Develop plans to support internal communication campaigns, working closely with the Head of Internal Communications, Transformation Director, NWS colleagues, and NDA internal communication leads as needed.
- Responsible for the day to day running of the internal communications inbox
- To develop the NWS intranet, The Vault; ensuring intranet content is engaging, accurate, and up to date, and conversations, discussions and questions are monitored and addressed.
- To co-ordinate the programme of staff events including Lunch and Learns, Executive briefings, other staff briefings, and the annual all-staff conference.
- To support the SLT cascade of information.
- To work closely with the NWS’s HR, Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) and Wellbeing teams to co-ordinate and deliver a programme of communications and events to support employee engagement.
- To be involved in the development and launch of new initiatives to increase employee engagement
**You’ll have relevant experience in**:
- Experience of delivering internal communications and employee engagement strategies and plans, using online tools and platforms.
- Experience of planning and delivering online and in-person events.
- Comfortable with operating at the highest level in the company
- Experience of working with organisations going through transformation and change
