Due to the continued success of our practice, we have an opportunity for an Assistant Legal Cashier in our Penzance office. This is an interesting role working with a variety of clients and external agencies. An acute eye for detail and a high level of accuracy are essential qualities in this role.
- **Roles & Responsibilities of the Assistant Legal Cashier**:_
- Reconciliation of Client and Office accounts.
- Raising payments and transfers on client matters for approval.
- Allocating monies received from clients to the correct matters.
- Posting purchase ledger transactions and raising payments to suppliers.
- Producing month-end reports for approval.
- Reconciling Petty Cash.
- Checking Land Registry invoices against client matters.
- Regular banking of client and office monies.
- Calculating interest on deposit monies held on behalf of clients.
- Assisting Fee-Earners with ledger queries.
- File closing and archiving.
- **The successful Assistant Legal Cashier will possess**:_
- Minimum 2 years’ experience as an Accounts Assistant is desirable.
- Knowledge of Solicitors Accounts Rule is desirable, but not essential as full training will be provided.
- Comfortable with using Excel and producing ad-hoc information for managers/fee-earners.
- Familiar with Case Management software.
- Resilient and calm under pressure.
- Excellent keyboard and number processing skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
