Head of Strategic Workforce Planning

AWE is now recruiting an exciting opportunity, to lead and develop Strategic Workforce Planning across the organisation. This is a pivotal role to drive the success of the organisational capabilities and skills that are required to deliver our important mission.
**Salary**: £65,000 to £85,000 dependant upon experience.
Location: South East

As Head of Strategic Workforce Planning (SWP) you will lead workforce planning activities (supply capabilities & critical skills) across AWE to ensure that the workforce continues to meet programme and operational requirements in the medium to long term.
As part of the Centre of Excellence (CoE) leadership team, key accountabilities for this role will be:
- Plan and provide a people programme with measurable objectives
- Provide thought leadership to the Executive HR Director and Exec Leadership team to develop innovative workforce solutions
- Work with the PMO function and relevant stakeholders to develop the SWP strategy and plan. Ensure that the people plan is developed to facilitate significant business transformation & change
- Initiate and sponsor change programmes to deliver workforce solutions effectively in conjunction with HR colleagues and the wider stakeholders
- Engagement with wider external stakeholders (such as defence / nuclear sector organisations) to develop joint approaches to skills and workforce capability
- Provide informed management information to support strategic decision making, the development of business cases and strategic papers and concepts
- Work closely with the other Heads of CoE, particularly Resourcing and Training, to ensure AWE recruits and develops its workforce to meet AWE strategic intent
- Develop an outreach capability in HR that works with other AWE colleagues in forming effective and appropriate relationships with other stakeholder and sector organisation to meet workforce strategies
**Due to the nature of our work, you must be willing and able to obtain and maintain the Security Clearance required for this role.**
