We are currently looking for a HGV Driver Trainer to include all operational activities implementing best practice procedures for driver employees.
- Driver inductions
- Training new and existing drivers
- FORS
- Ensure all accidents are reported, investigated thoroughly and lessons learned are cascaded across the organisation as remedial actions to avoid reoccurrence
- Produce and cascade regular Tool Box Talk type training to Managers
- Liaise with operational managers to ensure that site specific controls are adhered to produce and update in house documentation
- Monitor the competence of all sub-contractors and employees on site
- EU and UK driver's hours and tachograph regulations.
- Driver procedures - Health and safety and safe systems of work.
- Road Transport working time regulations.
- Vehicle telematics and other on-board systems.
- Carrying out periodic assessments of all drivers and identifying training needs, this will involve travelling to a variety of sites.
- Ensure good communication and working relationships with drivers and managers are maintained.
- Maintain robust and accurate training records.

**Desirable Criteria**
- Fleet compliance
- Experience in training staff

**Essential Criteria**
- Proactive with good attention to detail
- Proficient IT skills including MS software
- Excellent communication skills at all levels, orally and written
- Ability to produce own documentation and detailed reports essential
- Committed to the business, its goals, behaviours and promote strict adherence to all matters of H&S
- The Driver Trainer must be able to demonstrate knowledge of the transport industry/driving instructional skills which give confidence to those they will be assessing/training
- Class 2 License / CPC qualified
