**Events & Community Fundraiser | Swindon, Wiltshire | 37.5 per week, with hybrid working opportunity | £24,563 - £27,288 per year**

Since 1980, we have provided dedicated end-of-life care services for people living in Swindon, Marlborough and North East Wiltshire. We bring care, comfort and confidence, around the clock, every day of the year.

Our aim is to provide excellent, personalised and compassionate care for everyone in our community who is affected by a life-limiting illness.

This role sits within our fundraising team, where you’ll organise hospice-led events and work in partnership with our local community to deliver agreed income, across a range of engaging community led events, initiatives, and campaigns. You will bring your passion for raising income which enables us to support patients and their families. You will have a hand in organising a wide range of events and activities, supporting individuals who are fundraising for us developing and maintaining great supporter relationships.

The team is made up of 11 skilled, committed and creative individuals who are responsible for generating £3.3 million each year.

**Are you the right person for us?**

The following criteria are essential for this role
- A minimum of GCSE grade C in Maths and English Language
- A full UK driving licence for manual vehicles
- Experience in planning and organising events
- Experience in supporting individuals to achieve their goals
- Experience in working to and achieving budgets
- Exceptional level of customer care
- Basic understanding of GDPR and the Data Protection Act
- Strong numerical skills
- Able to maintain the highest professional standards at all times, and act as a true ambassador for the Hospice
- Have a track record of working inclusively and a genuine appreciation of the value of diversity
- Commitment to staff development
- Good interpersonal skills and the willingness to provide support to other staff members
- Commitment to and ability to demonstrate our values and behaviours at all times

**Your role will include, but not be limited to**
- Take the lead for specific high-profile hospice fundraising and marketing events
- Support individuals taking part in some challenging events, building strong one-to-one relationships to maximise and support their fundraising opportunities
- Liaise with the communications team regarding the publicising of fundraising activities and events
- To prepare correspondence, relating to fundraising activities as necessary, interrogating the fundraising database as required
- Achieve specific community fundraising income lines and provide as much guidance and support to individuals and groups in the community as practicably possible for activities held and challenges undertaken to raise funds for the Hospice
- To represent the hospice in receiving donations, and attending events to thank supporters
- To ensure the reputation of the Hospice is a key consideration in all fundraising activities
- To support fundraising events and activities outside normal working hours, weekends and bank holidays when required
- To provide an exceptional level of customer care
- To schedule and supervise fundraising volunteers, in line with agreed admin/clerical activities and at events
- To keep accurate records of fundraising activities and analyse information and statistics to accurately target future fundraising activities
- To ensure efficient use of resources at all times and to enable further growth in activity and income to achieve departmental targets
- Support other members of the Events and Community team to build a strong supportive working environment
- Ensure all monies emanating from each activity are paid promptly and accurate records are kept
- To work within the legal framework and good practice guidelines for fundraising activity
- To comply with the requirements of the Data Protection Act
