It is an exciting time to be joining the Mayoral Combined Authority. We have a wide variety of exciting projects that we are working on which will help shape the West Yorkshire region.

In 2021 the £1.8bn devolution deal was secured for West Yorkshire. This meant the first Mayor of West Yorkshire was subsequently elected, with Tracy Brabin taking up post in May 2021. The devolution deal and election of the Mayor has enabled us to start to drive up living standards for local communities while tackling the climate emergency and helping to deliver our commitment to become a net zero carbon city region by 2038.

We are seeking a talented and dynamic Digital Content Creator to contribute to our digital and social media content, delivering for the people of West Yorkshire.

**The Role**:
This is a varied, fast-paced role which will suit a flexible and collaborative person with a track record of building strong working relationships.

Reporting into the **Senior Digital Media Officer** your key responsibilities will include:

- Develop, create and edit innovative video and image-led content for a wide range of digital and social media platforms including web.
- Develop and deliver social media and content strategies that combine the Combined Authority organisation priorities and mayoral pledges.
- Draft and proofreading copy for a diverse range of platforms, audiences and topics for the Combined Authority and the Mayor of West Yorkshire.
- Manage and update content on our websites using our house content management system (CMS).
- Keep abreast of new developments, trends and technologies within content creation and make recommendations to the Heads of Communications and Marketing team and project leads on how the organisation could use them to meet business objectives.
- Evaluate and monitor content performance to drive and insight led data first approach to content formulation and delivery.
- Manage the internal creative briefing system.

**About You**:
You will have the following key skills, attributes, education and experience:

- Significant experience creating and delivering video, photo and audio projects and content.
- Demonstrable understanding of the role creative content plays within the marketing mix.
- Understanding of planning, delivering, and evaluating multi-channel campaigns, and content marketing strategies across a wide range of digital touchpoints.
- Experience using industry standard social media management and scheduling tools.
- Experience creating digital content that is accessible.
- Knowledge of the current political landscape and how this impacts the Combined Authority, the Mayor of West Yorkshire, and the work that we do.
