**About J.P. Morgan**

**Opportunity**

The EMEA EM Economic research team is responsible for economic research and analysis on a large set of economies across Europe, CIS, Central Asia, Middle East and Africa. You will be working with other economists covering the region, but primarily focus on Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Serbia and Uzbekistan. The role is based in London.

Your role will consist of macroeconomic modelling and statistical analysis; synthesizing findings; developing presentations and reports; and interacting with clients and policy makers in the region.

**The primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to**:

- Analyzing macro/fundamental drivers of the Eastern European economies - including Central Asia and Caucasus - by performing in-depth analysis;
- Monitor data releases and market-relevant developments in the regions;
- Build, update, and streamline country and regional databases
- Create and maintain models and analytical tools;
- Work closely with the entire EMEA EM team; liaise with strategists and other economists to formulate forecasts and views;
- Producing regular research and special reports analyzing various frontier economies, particularly in Central Asia and Caucasus;
- Compiling chart books and templates for weekly/monthly/ad hoc publications;
- Interacting with external institutional clients on customized requests as well as assisting internal sales and trading personnel.

**Your profile**
- Ideally background in economics with Master's degree (or equivalent);
- Strong quantitative skills with proven aptitude to analyze macro data and develop suitable models for oil exporters (and importers)
- Research experience on The Eastern Europe, Central Asia and Caucasus Economies would be a strong advantage;
- Background in development/international economics at a similar level with a strong analytical/statistical component would be an alternative;
- Excellent knowledge of economic principles and statistics/econometrics;
- Excellent ability to work with spreadsheets;
- Ability to sieve through, synthesize and present complex information and ideas;
- Strong organizational and time management skills;
- Ability to work autonomously;
- Ability to work as a team-player in an international environment;
- Experience in the official creditor sector or developing country government would be a strong advantage.
