As a Procurement Advisor at GB Railfreight you will be part of a leading Rail freight company dedicated to delivering exceptional logistics solutions within our small and friendly Procurement Team. The Procurement approach within the business is a devolved function to the departments and not a category buying structure.

To be considered for this role you must have previous procurement experience with a commercial understanding and be able to hit the ground running, working both autonomously and within a tight-knit team. This procurement role supports execution of the procurement process within the business. This includes the management of the Supplier Approval Process, issuance and receipt of bid documentation, communication with suppliers and internal teams and procurement team colleagues.

This is predominantly an office based role working Monday - Friday within the hours of 8am - 5pm with occasional travel to other GBRf locations and to meet suppliers. The opportunity for remote work may be available following successful completion of your probation depending on the needs of the business.

**Responsibilities**:

- Lead the Supplier Approval and review process for the business, ensuring that all approvals and renewals are conducted in a timely manner to protect clients from risk.
- Maintain and develop supplier assurance information/ circulate MI
- Maintain internal resources and using news updates and training to promote the principles of good procurement and contract management practice throughout the business and to keep supplier risk in the minds of the devolved purchasers
- Maintain GBRf qualified status and access to industry supplier databases (RISQS)
- Maintain the procurement contracts register and an approved supplier list
- IR35 - Contractor engagement process procurement lead.
- The ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with internal customers and external suppliers.
- Support and assist the Procurement Manager and wider business stakeholders with projects, issuance and receipt of bid documentation, communication with suppliers and internal teams and procurement team colleagues.
- Chair or attend meetings as required, e.g Quarterly Business reviews with key suppliers

To succeed in this role you will need to demonstrate the following skills and experience;
Essential
- You must be a resourceful, resilient, adaptable and organised individual with the ability to build rapport with internal customers and suppliers.
- The ability to work as part of a small close knit but remote team, work in cross functional teams and work on your own initiative is essential
- Experience working with supplier assurance processes
- GCSE English and Mathematics at Grade C or above (or equivalent)
- Strong knowledge of procurement processes, contract management, and supplier relationship management.
- Strong IT skills, Microsoft suite including SharePoint
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills including influencing and negotiating
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask, project manage and

achieve deadlines whilst maintaining attention to detail
- Strong at managing complexity and capable of driving simplification and efficiency.
- Demonstrate self-awareness leading to personal improvement as part of succession planning.
- Clean UK driving license

Desirable:

- CIPS qualified (Advanced Certificate or higher)
- Previous experience within the Railway industry

**Salary**: £35,000.00-£40,000.00 per year
