We are seeking an experienced Freight Forwarder to join the Shipping department of a multi-model operation to work in there expanding business with an opportunity to progress, develop and learn within their culture driven team.

- Freight Forwarding experience essential (Multi Modal advantageous)
- Minimum 3 years' experience within a similar Freight Forwarding role is desirable
- Knowledge of Import & Export procedures / processes is desirable
- Previous experience of using freight forwarding systems such as Box Top and Cargo Wise
- Proven experience of rate negotiation with both clients and third parties
- Strong commercials skills and business acumen are necessary as is the ability to identify and maximize opportunity
- Results driven with a measured and consistent approach with the ability to inspire and motivate
- Must have a 'can do' attitude
- Presentable, polite and demonstrate excellent customer service skills
- Strong customer service skills
- Competent decision making
- Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines
Duties and Responsibilities;
- Book transport with hauliers. Knowledge and relationships your own local hauliers will be a great advantage
- Handle the coordination of freight (Road, Air or Ocean)
- Handle all operational aspects of import and export file management
- Arrange customs clearance of both export and import shipments
- Liaise with third party hauliers for planning any additional capacity
- Produce a range of freight documentation including AWB's and Bills of Lading
- Build and maintain a good working relationship with internal and external stakeholders
- Liaise with all relevant parties to ensure that expectations are met during the movement of cargo
