Job Purpose:
This is an opportunity to join an ambitious and enthusiastic team, accountable for validating motion control hardware, software and calibrations. This is a lead role, instrumental in the conception of the future strategy for new test methodologies and procedures within the domain of motion control.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

- Working with Head of Software/Hardware Integration for Motion Control, set the strategy and lead the implementation of SiL, HiL and other motion control rigs new test methodologies for the next generation of Aston Martin vehicles.
- Lead the definition, interpretation and development of the V&V requirements for motion control to deliver a robust system on time and to the appropriate quality and legislative standards.
- Lead the V&V activity within the motion control team across multiple vehicle lines ensuring robust issue rectification, consistency & repeatability.
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of current best SiL, HiL, PHiL & PiL practices and developing test technologies across the automotive sector and related field of engineering, and provide expertise to the team.
- Lead the continuous introduction of new technologies, tool chain and processes to enhance the testing process at AML.
- Become the primary point of contact for all technical concerns in relation to SiL, HiL, and other motion control rigs and associated V&V test components.
- Coach and distribute technical knowledge within the wider team as required ensuring technical competences grow to meet the requirements of the developing testing strategy.
- Provide technical expertise to guide decision making.

Qualification & Experience:

- Working experience and a proven track record in developing test strategy and designing test environments.
- Practical experience of continuous integration and an ASPICE framework or similar.
- Significant expertise with the Simulink real time, dSpace tools and National Instruments tools
- Expertise of automotive communication protocols such as CAN, LIN, and Ethernet.
- Proven experience within an automotive vehicle manufacturer, supplier or consultancy, designing test environments for automotive systems.
- Significant experience in systems engineering, requirements and test cases definition for safety critical automotive systems
- Knowledge of vehicle controllers, systems and / or features, e.g. chassis and / or EV powertrain.
- Knowledge of automotive homologation and legal / regulatory requirements as applied to system testing.
- Project management and supplier management skills
- Familiarity with MS Office suite
- Educated to Degree level in Electrical / Software Engineering or related discipline
- Member of the IMechE, IET or similarly recognized international institution
