K lives with her parents, younger siblings and two dogs, she is a bubbly, outgoing 23-year-old who has a great sense of humour. K is looking for a Support Worker who can help her access different activities in the community and encourage and build her skills for independence. **The Role/Client**:

- K has complex needs including an acquired brain injury and learning difficulties. She also has diabetes insipidus, so her fluid intake must be carefully monitored, and she also has a urinary stoma. K has limited mobility and uses a wheelchair most of the time and uses a ceiling track hoist occasionally. K is verbal with limited speech but able to communicate her wishes and needs to people who know her well.
- The role will involve supporting K with her personal care and preparing meals and assisting with therapy programmes.
- K is sociable and outgoing and attends drama, dance and music groups as well as trips to the theatre, cinema, shopping and going to cafes and restaurants. She loves laughing with people who aren’t afraid to have fun and be a bit silly.
- Full training in all aspects of our client’s care will be given and you will be fully supported by her Case Manager.

**About You**:

- You will have a minimum of 1 year’s complex care experience.
- You will have a sense of humour and fun as K enjoys the company of Support Workers who she can share a laugh with. You will be supportive in accompanying K to the activities that she loves and also involve her in the preparation and cooking of meals.
- You will work on a one-to-one basis with K and follow her care plan to help her achieve her rehabilitation goals which include aquatic therapy sessions where you will be required to accompany K in the pool, so being a swimmer is an essential part of this role.
- K has two pet dogs so you will be comfortable working around animals with no allergies.
- You will be working in a family home so will need to be flexible and adapt to this busy environment.
- A driver with a UK licence is essential as you will take our client out in her automatic wheelchair-adapted vehicle.

**Pay**:

- £14 per hour on weekdays
- £15 per hour Weekends
- £21 per hour bank holiday weekdays
- £22.50 per hour bank holiday weekends
- £10.42 per hour sleeping nights.

**Hours / Shifts available**:
Shifts are on a rolling 4-week pattern as follows:
**Term Time**:
**Week 1 & 3**
Tuesday & Wednesday - 15:30 to 21:00

Friday - 15:00 to 21:00 and Friday sleeping night 21:00 to 07:00 on Saturday

Saturday - 07:00 to 20:00

Total of 40 hours each week

**Weeks 2 & 4**
Tuesday & Wednesday - 15:30 to 21:00

Total of 11 hours each week

**School Holidays**:
**Weeks 1 & 3**
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday - 15:00 to 21:00 and Friday sleeping night 21:00 to 07:00 on Saturday

Total of 47 hours each week
