We are working with an established Freight Forwarder who have an exciting opportunity for a Supervisor to work in there Aerospace Department.
This position is focused on ensuring customers expectations are meet by providing excellent customer service including customs clearances, quotes, arranging shipments, invoicing and all other functions as required. The individual should be prepared to be involved multi modal activities as required and manage the team in the absence of the line manager.
This role is in the Aerospace department and previous Aerospace experience is required.

**Key Activities**:
Ensure all team members always follow company policies and procedures.

Carry out investigations into non-compliance and/or assist with disciplinary processes in line with company policy.

Train new team members to company standards, customer service and job duties

Provide effective communication to team members, management, and customers

Maintain strong working knowledge of the company, its processes/products/services.

Ensure operators are compliant in all areas including HMRC, aviation security and H&S.

Remain in contact with customers and suppliers to maintain relationships

Ability to lead local team in absence of the manager

Cost control of the department
Completion of end-to-end forwarding activities as the individual role requires
Follow strict and time sensitive SOPs/KPIs to ensure compliance
Work closely with internal and external customers
Focus on customer service across the department
Use of CargoWise/MS office as requested
Ensure invoicing and job costing are updated within the required timeframe
Month end department compliance
Customs Entries
Assist line managers and Directors where required
Ensure all reports including internal and customer specific are completed within the deadline
Resolve queries from customers and suppliers
Ensure Best Practice models are adopted across the department
Work closely with the line manager to complete Internal and external rates reviews.
To take part in customer reviews when required to build up visibility and relationships with customers.
Assist with budgeting process
Assist sales and management with customer development
Maintain clean desk policy
Operate within companies QA system
Always remain customs and H&S compliant
Hold regular minuted meetings with other managers/key staff
Any other tasks as directed by their Supervisor or line manager

**Technical Experience**:
Educated to GCSE/O level standard or equivalent
Comprehensive Customs clearance knowledge
Excellent operational knowledge and experience
Excellent customer service skills
Excellent people and leadership skills
Confidence to deal with internal and external issues at all levels
Ability to appraise a given situation and offer credible solutions to improve practices
Ability to implement the solution and make it work
Excellent communication skills
Ability to work under pressure
Self-motivating
Effective time management
Good Knowledge of CargoWise
Excellent problem-solving skills
Basic Salary depends on experience + Bonus
