East Midlands, United Kingdom The Royal Society of Chemistry Full time

Overview:
The Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC) seeks an Education Coordinator on a temporary basis until December 2024.

**About the Royal Society of Chemistry**:
A not-for-profit organisation with a heritage that spans over 180 years, the Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC) has an ambitious vision for the future. Around the world, we invest in the education of future generations of scientists. We raise and maintain standards. We partner with industry and academia, promoting collaboration and innovation. We advise governments on policy, and we promote the talent, information and ideas that lead to great advances in science.

We provide advice, resources, and practical support to learners and educators in schools, colleges, and universities around the world. In the UK, we are the largest non-governmental funder of chemistry education and we influence government policy to ensure that opportunities to develop skills meet the unique needs of chemistry.

**The role**:
Working as part of the Education team, you will support our strategic goals through regional engagement and delivery across the UK, with a focus on the Midlands and London. You will help to ensure our programmes are tailored and relevant to meet the needs of the different curricula and support our education communities through working with internal and external stakeholders. You will also support the delivery of key education projects on a local basis and engage with our local members to act as advocates for chemistry, highlighting best practice in schools' engagement activities.

**What we are looking for**:

- A degree in science, preferably in the chemical sciences, or an equivalent qualification, together with evidence of working with schools, ideally with a teaching qualification.
- An understanding of school level, further and higher education and a breadth of knowledge of the education systems in the UK.
- An understanding of customer requirements, including those of: school teachers; school students; FE teachers, HE academics and support staff; HE students; careers advisors; employers; governments and its agencies, and non-government bodies.
- Good project management, communication, team working and presentation skills (online and in-person) and experience and the ability to work independently.
- Experience of stakeholder relationship management.

As an organisation we are embracing hybrid working and homeworking/remote working in the UK will be considered for this role. Applicants should be aware that there is an expectation that employees will attend the office as needed for their role. This role will require extensive travel in England; visiting schools, working with members, meeting stakeholders and attending events across the UK, with a focus on the Midlands and London. This may involve weekends and non-core working hours.
