**Working pattern**:
- Start: 9am
- Finish: 5:30pm
- 30 minutes break

**The role**:
- Operate Mechanical Handling Equipment (MHE) including a motorised pallet truck, forklift, counterbalance, reach truck (or other MHE) to load stores, transport pallets, rearrange stock or place heavy/large objects, as appropriate.
- Ensuring products are stored safely and labelled correctly.
- Ensure orders are packaged and labelled correctly to prevent returned orders.
- Assist in loading/unloading with appropriate apparatus and following safety protocol.
- Inspect stock for defects or damage, reporting any concerns to the shift manager.
- Occasionally assisting customers at the Trade Counter.
- Maintain accurate records of inventory.
- Conduct regular stock checks and report any discrepancies.
- Report Health and Safety concerns immediately, following the reporting procedure.
- Rely on appropriate equipment/tools for the job, following the correct system.
- Be aware of, and participate in, the appropriate training to become multi-skilled.
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment in your area.
**Your profile**:
- Industry knowledge and experience (desirable).
- Knowledge of our competitors, and our group companies (desirable).
- Basic knowledge and understand of general Health & Safety.
- Previous experience working in a warehouse or distribution centre.
- Familiarity with goods-in and goods-out, inventory and general logistics.
- Happy to carry out manual handling duties as required
- Comfortable working within a fast-paced and results-driven environment
- Flexible attitude toward working hours (rotational shifts, or peak sales)
- Excellent customer service skills
**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent
**Salary**: Up to £25,000.00 per year

Ability to commute/relocate:
- Chatham: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
Licence/Certification:
- Reach Truck or Counterbalance licence (required)
