**About the role**
The Idox Corporate IT Support Team supports the business by designing, building, administering and maintaining the infrastructure for the companies’ computer networks and back-office systems. It is a relatively small team and attempts as much as possible to “work smarter, not harder”, and are therefore frequently re-evaluating latest technologies and ideas and implementing these where they fit with business requirements. New ways of thinking and working are part of the role, as is maintaining constructive relationships with colleagues across the organisation. You will be a core member of this friendly team, supporting day-to-day operations of the environments and associated systems and dealing with requests raised by staff and alerts from the various security and network monitoring systems.
Planned growth for the Idox Group means that there is a stream of interesting projects, in addition to daily workflow, related to introduction of new technologies and environments. We are looking for a Systems Administrator who preferably has experience working with mission critical systems within a busy private and public cloud environment. Joining our team, you will be shaping and supporting the core infrastructure alongside our emerging DevOps technology and processes. In return gaining experience in a variety of technologies including Active directory, Cloud services, networking, storage and desktop environments.
**Key responsibilities**
As part of the Corporate IT Support team, the post-holder’s duties include:
- Providing technical support assistance to the IT Helpdesk
- Working alongside and providing cover for the senior network engineers
- Routine troubleshooting, environment capacity management and change control
- Processing assigned requests, interacting with the ticketing system
- Monitoring support systems: network monitoring, SIEM, Syslog, MDM, vulnerability management, to ensure environments are properly supported
- Monitoring and improving system and network security
- The installation, configuration, and maintenance of operating systems and platform software
- Keeping up to date with industry changes, security, bug reports
- Analysis and diagnosis of outages and raised issues.
- Updating and maintaining process documentation
- Responsibility for maintaining and improving own skills.
- Be available for travel to UK and overseas Idox locations
- Provide occasional out of hours support when required
- Adhere to Idox Information Security & Management System Policies.
**To be successful, you will need to bring**:
- A good understanding of common networking concepts and protocols
- Hands-on experience of configuring Cisco network appliances
- At least 2 years’ experience of supporting desktop OS (Windows and MacOS)
- 2 years of experience administering Windows Server environments in a mission critical, highprofile environment
- Hands-on experience of VMware vSphere & vCentre
- A good understanding of computer and network security systems (SIEM, Anti-Malware, Nextgen firewalling, network device profiling and authentication)
- Experience of mobile device management concepts and systems
- Hands-on experience administering Microsoft O365, Azure, InTune
- A self-starter, able to see the bigger picture, and identify solutions to problems
- Comfortable working alongside a geographically diverse, multi skilled team, and supporting a 24/7 environment
- Able to travel to site when required
**Additional desirable qualities**:
- Cisco CCNA, CCNP or other recognised networking professional certification
- Experience with Citrix ADC, Citrix Virtual Apps
- Knowledge of any enterprise storage solutions
