About Role

Procurement is a key global business function within Diageo, Source being a fundamental part of our end to end supply chain within Diageo.

Strategic sourcing activity is mainly led at a global level but the in-market raw materials team play a pivotal role in this activity. There is also a small amount of local sourcing led directly by the in-market raw materials team.

The role covers Global Brand Supply (GBS) Scotland Supply, which could cover Raw Materials, Packaging, Logistics, or Manufacturing Services and has specific responsibility for ongoing management of supplier performance, including delivery of goods/services to agreed service levels, value delivery and continuous improvement. The category specialist must be an effective business partner to key functions including plan, technical, make, and finance.

Procurement is a key enabler to Diageo’s financial health, this role will include developing and managing financial delivery pipelines for P&L and Balance Sheet. ESG/Society 2030 will play a critical shaping role in direction for this role, supporting the development and delivery of Scope 3 carbon and water reduction, and development of I&D pipeline.

Purpose of Role:

- Leverage knowledge and experience across category supply base to manage suppliers and drive continuous improvement
- Support development of category strategy and implement at an in-market level
- Lead end to end sourcing activity for local categories of spend
- Run all aspects of supplier performance and identify continuous cost improvement opportunities
- Collation of project performance against annual operating plan (financial delivery and tracking)
- Management & maintenance of category price data
- Direct engagement with suppliers on Society 2030 targets and influence to improve

Top Accountabilities:

- Management of Supplier performance to ensure key targets are achieved. Resolution of key issues across the category and implementation of long-term corrective actions.
- Service focused - build agility and resilience in our supply base to service Diageo customers and Diageo growth ambitions
- Support Global Category and GBS Category Manager in development of category strategies and strategic planning processes. Use insights to shape future
- Ownership of strategies for local categories of spend
- Procurement lead for a suite of projects across margin enhancement, sustainability and supply projects for category

About you

To be successful in role you will ideally have Procurement experience or equivalent role with transferrable skills and experience with commodities or commodity based products, additionally:

- Ability to embed sustainable change
- Experienced at influencing cross functional teams/projects
- Skilled communicator with a high level of personal impact enabling the rapid establishment of constructive relationships
- Ability and confidence to engage at various partner levels internally and externally
