We are recruiting for a Trauma Informed Therapeutic Practitioner to provide Trauma Informed psychological support and interventions to young people across our Mansfield and Ashfield 16+ services. Key to this, is to deliver a responsive service based around client need, providing Trauma Informed Support to vulnerable people accessing the YMCA. This is being recruited on the basis of a 12 month fixed term contract.

You will passionately share in our belief that everyone should have a fair chance to discover who they are and what they can become.

This is a brand new role to our service and one we are incredibly excited to be able to provide additional support and care to the young people we work with.

You will lead on the development of a service-wide trauma informed psychological response, including;

You will also support our front-line workers who are managing a caseload of young people with multiple and complex needs. This support will include a monthly training/development session, as well as support to the Housing Development Manager to deliver effective debrief sessions following incidents.

**About You**

You will have experience of delivering trauma informed therapeutic interventions to support mental health and growth, preferably to young people. You will need the ability to work flexibly and travel if required across multiple sites in the East Midlands.

You will be enthusiastic, friendly, approachable and align with our core values of honesty, respect, responsibility and caring. You will need excellent communication skills, and the ability to adapt your communication styles to suit a variety of audiences.

You will need to build solid and trusted relationships with colleagues and young people and understand the importance of professional boundaries and role modelling.

Within this role, you will be supported by our appointed consultant Forensic Psychologist who supports all of the children and young people in our care who may have experience trauma. In working with her and her team, you will also get support, development and the opportunity to expand your knowledge, experience and techniques. There is huge scope within this role for it to expand and develop as we absolutely believe in the benefits of trauma informed therapeutic practice.
