Chair of The Independent Procurement and Choice
6 months ago
NHS England is establishing a review panel that has oversight responsibilities for the procurement of health-care services under the Provider Selection Regime (PSR) and for patient choice.
We are looking to appoint a Chair that will oversee the panel’s two functions. As Chair, you will provide advice, scrutiny and challenge to Integrated Care Boards to ensure Choice is delivered for patients. You will also advise relevant authorities on how they have followed PSR regulations.
The Chair will work alongside the SRO (a member of the NHS England executive team) to represent the panel to senior stakeholders in government and the health care system.
The Panel will include Panel Members who will play a vital role in making decisions about the advice and recommendations that the Panel makes. The Chair will contribute to the recruitment and review of panel members and ensuring the Panel establishes and maintains effective processes.
This is a high-profile, strategic role and as such will require extensive senior-level experience, and credibility across the health and care system and with government.
The Chair will be involved in weekly decision-making through meetings with Panel members or via correspondence, and occasional meetings with NHS England executives. The role will require approximately 6 days per month. We will consider offering the role on a secondment basis with reimbursement made for the time commitment.
