My client is recruiting for a hardworking, innovative, and friendly Attendance Officer to work at their School.

The role is to start from ASAP.

This is a fixed term role for 12 months intitally

This is a full-time position.

Hours: 37 hours per week, Monday to Thursday 07.45am - 3.45pm and Friday 07.45am - 3.15pm. Which includes a 30-minute unpaid lunch break, term time only plus teacher training days (39 weeks per annum) salary of £19,073.04 per annum

A current enhanced DBS certificate/ subscription to the update service

Recent experience working as an Attendance Officer

Duties include but are not limited to:

- Be responsible for recording of all attendance data for Secondary Phase and reasons for pupil’s absence on a daily basis including:

- Chasing N Codes.
- Managing the input of lates and absences of students onto Synergy.
- Managing the ‘First day calling’ procedures through the Synergy software package; liaising with parents to notify of absent students
- Ensuring all registers are completed correctly on Synergy; chasing staff inaccuracies & checking data is accurate.
- Working with the Primary School to ensure attendance calls are carried out and correctly recorded on Synergy. Deputise in the case of absence of the Senior Primary Administrator
- Handling potentially difficult conversations with parents
- Keeping a log of all correspondence from parents
- Building relationships with parents
- Update SYNERGY with information received from form tutors and HoYs.
- Support HoYs and Senior Leaders in advising the school on all matters relating to attendance.
- Analyse and report on attendance patterns to the HoYs and SLT Link
- Produce attendance information and reports when asked for by staff.
- Complete weekly intervention checks, liaising with the HoYs and SLT Link
- Manage school correspondence in respect of attendance, issuing letters and liaising with Senior Leaders and HoYs as appropriate
- Complete appropriate ‘leave of absence’ paperwork for Warwickshire Attendance Service (WAS) & making referrals
- Produce attendance registers from Synergy
- Check online registration of students at alternative provision
- Ensure that other office staff are trained on attendance procedures in case of staff absence
- Undertake SYNERGY/ Attendance training when appropriate
- Undertake other routine procedures; assist in completing all statutory data returns
- Ensure relevant information is disseminated promptly re: absences
- Ensure the careful, confidential and secure handling and processing of information
- Work with the Director of Safeguarding to co-ordinate safe and well checks
- Linking student absences to Safeguarding concerns using the School’s internal system - CPOMS
- Working with the Director of Pastoral Care when a parent requests to home school their child.
