CMA is working with a Higher Education organisation based in Portsmouth, Hampshire, in the recruitment for a Financial Controller to undertake responsibility for the production of the management accounts and financial statements.

**What will the Financial Controller role involve?**

Reporting to the Finance Director, the key responsibilities of the Financial Controller position will include:

- Preparation of the monthly management accounts pack;
- Weekly and monthly cash-flow management including regular reforecasting;
- Act as Finance Business Partner to key budget holders throughout the business, supporting them in the production of departmental budgets and monthly monitoring of performance;
- Support the Finance Director in the production of the annual financial statements and external audit;
- Review of internal controls and processes, recommending and implementing effective change where necessary.
- Applicants for the position will hold a full accountancy qualification with previous experience of working within a similar position and demonstrable management accounting and finance business partnering skills;
- Excellent communication, analytical and planning skills will be essential to undertake the role successfully as will the ability to effectively support key non-finance stakeholders in understanding financial information;
- Previous experience of working within a Higher Educational organisation would be highly advantageous.
