Community Front Rooms (CFRs) are open to anyone over 18 who needs face-to-face support. They are staffed by mental health professionals and peer specialists (people with personal experience of mental health issues), and are there for you if you are struggling to cope and feel you are approaching a crisis point.

CFRs are welcoming, informal, safe spaces where you can discuss your problems. Staff will not offer medication or structured therapy, but rather self-management advice and support that helps you find the solutions to aid your recovery. There is no referral or appointment needed, just turn up and ring the doorbell.

If the staff feel the CFR is not the most appropriate level of support for you, they may offer you an assessment which may lead to further support from the other mental health services available.

CFRs are provided by charitable housing association BCHA, which works in partnership with local charity Hope to run the Shaftsbury CFR, and local charity Burrough Harmony to deliver the Bridport CFR.

CFRs are not able to work with people who:

- require medical attention beyond basic first aid/wound care
- are intoxicated by alcohol or substances
- display threatening or physically aggressive behaviour
- are under the age of 18.

**Position**:
In this role you will develop customer led support using person centred and psychologically informed approaches by providing information, advice and support for adults who are or at risk of homelessness. To contribute to the delivery of a high quality, safe and dynamic service in accordance with our policies, procedures, vision, values and strategic objectives. The post holder will on a rolling two-week rota Monday to Sunday in a flexible manner responding to the requirements of the service with the ability to work outside core hours to include weekends to meet the needs of the role and services.

The post holder will work within the BCHA Psychologically Informed Framework to ensure that all customers are enabled to make lasting changes, which equip them for independent living and work.

Internally, the Senior Practitioner is required to manage the support service and lead a team of Health and Wellbeing Navigators and other BCHA staff in the delivery of interventions to a variety of vulnerable people with a range of support needs. In particular, the Senior Practitioner will work on a day to day basis with the following roles; Support Workers; Business Manager and Tenancy Sustainment.

Externally, you will build strong working relationships with statutory and third sector agencies to help support and develop the service thereby empowering customers towards independence and positive wellbeing. Specifically, these may include; Local Authority Housing Teams; Police, IDVA, Housing Benefit staff; DWP staff; Community Mental Health Teams; Social Services; Offender Management services in a multi-agency approach including third sector agencies and others.

3 shifts will be based from Weymouth Community Front Room 1400hrs to 2200hrs on a Thursday, Friday Saturday or Sunday depending on variable weekly rota
