**Environmental & Permit Assurance Technical Assistant **to join our team based in
**Exeter. **Joining us on a
**full-time permanent** basis, you will receive a competitive salary of
**£29,000 - £32,000 per annum **plus excellent benefits.

**About the role**

As Environmental & Permit Assurance Technical Assistant, your focus will be to ensure that all of our wastewater treatment sites are compliant with their Environmental Discharge Permits.

You will work with, and assist, the Environmental & Permit Assurance Officers to ensure that they are fully prepared for their environmental permit compliance site audits.

This team will have its unique and at times challenging situations which you and the team will need to help resolve and ensure that South West Water remain legally compliant with its environmental permit.

**What you’ll be doing**:

- Assist the Environmental & Permit Assurance Manager (EAM) with the team’s day to day activities.
- Collate data evidence and compliance history for the Environmental & Permit Assurance Officers (EAO).
- Provide confidential administrative support to the EAM and EAO’s.
- Work with internal stakeholders throughout the Pennon Group to establish a better understanding of environmental permitting compliance.
- React to on-site queries froM/For the EAOs
- Help maintain the EAM Innovation Log.
- Help maintain lines of communication with internal partners and relevant project teams.
- Assist with building and forming good working relationship with other departments within South West Water and the Pennon Group. Including Area Managers, Catchment Pilot’s and Technical Assistants.
- Supply feedback to other departments within the Pennon Group.
- Supporting the Group General Counsel and Group Head of Legal with any Wastewater compliance issues.
- Help develop and establish greater environmental awareness within SWW wastewater staff and management teams_._

**What we are looking for**:

- Ideally, you’ll have experience of working in Environmental permitting and compliance and the relevant regulations or a desire to develop in this area.
- Have an understanding and experience with general environmental compliance and enforcement.
- Able to work accurately, prioritise work and manage time effectively.
- Has strong written communication skills and the ability to articulate points in a clear and concise manner.
- Has an attention for detail and the ability to determine what Environmental Information is relevant.
- Can work well within a team and support the wider Group Legal Team
- Previous experience of operating and maintaining complex processes and working with modern technology.
