**About us**:
Amegreen Children’s Services is an established and respected provider of residential children’s homes having been established in 1987. Our independent children’s homes are rated as Outstanding by Ofsted and provide therapeutic care to children between the ages of 5 and 18 who are unable to live with their families.

We are located in West Berkshire within easy access of Reading, Newbury, Basingstoke, Swindon and Andover.

We have an exciting opportunity for experienced Team Leaders to join us in one of our residential settings based in West Berkshire.

As a team leader you will be responsible for leading shifts, preparing, and delivering supervisions for your staff team as well as working closely with the children, their families and their social care team. You directly contribute to the delivery of the highest standards of care, protection and support to children and will role model therapeutic parenting to the staff team.

We will provide you with a clear pathway to progression in your career whether that is stepping up into management or continuing developing as a Team Leader. Our training is bespoke to the needs of the children placed with us, however, our underpinning knowledge of developmental trauma and therapeutic parenting is embedded throughout all mentoring and training.

We are looking for someone who is confident, adaptable, resilient, self-aware, and attuned. Someone who enjoys being with children and can provide an enriched and thriving environment. You will be able to provide a safe, secure, and containing space where children can feel comfortable to express themselves.

You will work a 40-hour week with shifts 7am - 3pm 2pm - 10pm and 7am - 10pm. Overtime is available, and you may be asked to cover a shift at another of our homes if necessary. All our homes are within close proximity to each other.

In this role you need to be emotionally aware and resilient to be able to support the young people and the staff team you will be working with. Many of our young people have complex needs and you will need to be confident in managing these.

**What does the job entail?**
- _To act as a positive role model for the Children and Young People within Amegreen Children’s Services, offering care and support based on structure, consistency and nurturing as part of day-to-day living._
- _To ensure the safety of each Child or Young Person at all times._
- _To be intuitive to Children and Young People’s needs; be it physical or emotional._
- _To be alert to any indication of stress or abuse; and monitoring, recording and reporting accordingly._
- _To encourage, advise and promote good personal hygiene for all Children and Young People._
- _To care for and provide for our Young People’s daily needs, i.e. washing, cooking, ironing, shopping and bathing (if appropriate), and at Barn Owl Way encouraging and supporting a degree of semi-independence for these needs._
- _To supervise and engage in a wide range of activities with Children and Young People, escorting to and from given activities by either car or public transport_
- _To be able to listen to, guide and advise Young People sensitively, offering comfort at times of stress or sadness, and sharing their joy when right to do so._
- _To carry out any administrative duties and record information with accuracy:_
- _Plus any other duties which are found to be appropriate/needed within the lives of Young People in our care and at times be involved in the provision of an after care service._

A driver’s licence is essential for this role, as you will be driving with the Young People in the car.
