The English Regions (ER) directorate leads the delivery of DIT’s export and investment support across the English Regions, tailoring DIT’s service offer and expertise to meet the needs of SMEs and larger businesses at a local level. As an Export Support Adviser, you will proactively engage with new and existing clients to plan their customer journey with DIT, working closely with Adviser Teams to ensure client needs are met - and to provide a comprehensive customer follow up and feedback service. You will provide administrative support, including preparation and maintenance of data capture and reporting, and client insight to the Trade Team for the management of DIT services and programmes. This role will provide direct engagement with businesses of all shapes and sizes, dealing with a variety of enquiries and working across teams in DIT. You will be given the right tools and training to succeed and will develop a strong understanding of international trade and experience of being at the front-line to help you to develop your career further.

**Job description**:

- Undertake with clients, a preliminary analysis of information and development needs using diagnostic tools/processes.
- Using judgement and interpretive ability to provide clients with export information, guidance, templates, etc. appropriate to their needs.
- Encourage clients to use relevant services and other resources to help them address their business issues or development needs.
- Work proactively with clients on a holistic and on-going basis to plan client journey and tracking client progress.
- Identify any other services that will be of benefit and make the appropriate referral or signposting - providing the client with choice where available and providing the client with relevant service factsheets.
- Maintain management information records, produce, or contribute to the production of reports from the CRM and other systems as required.
- Keep abreast of business and international trade issues, trends, legislation, regulation and opportunities and share best practise with colleagues and other teams as appropriate.
- Support colleagues to better identify customers for whom international trade support will be beneficial. Contacting potential export companies on a proactive basis to promote support services available.
- Ability to be able to accurately prioritise activities to be able to focus on higher value adding activities.

**Hybrid working**

Please be aware that this role can only be worked from within the UK and not overseas.

Informal hybrid working arrangements will be available as agreed with the vacancy manager and in line with the requirements of the role.

Most DIT employees will be working a hybrid pattern, spending 2-3 days a week (pro rata) in an office, on average. If your office location is London, you will be eligible to receive London weighting.
