About the role

The role is varied and fast-paced, with a chance to define business decision making, identifying new ways to leverage insight to solve business problems. You will use your insight expertise to build positive relationships with a broad range of colleagues (Heads of and Directors) and work closely with business leaders across the Tesco Group to help define and embed business strategy. You will directly influence key decisions and ensure we put customers at the centre of our business through having a clear understanding of the bigger picture and the priority areas

You will be responsible for
- Leading the Insight program for Health and Sustainability, a key strategic priority for Tesco.
- Building strong partnerships with colleagues within both the Customer and Product functions to understand their business priorities, key questions and how Insight can support.
- Supporting the development of propositions to enhance customer experience, improve our brand perception and help us differentiate versus our competitors, Leading the evaluation of proposition change to identify key findings and recommendations.
- Supporting the deployment of core Insight tools and capabilities e.g. Trends & Foresight dissemination, and implementation of core strategic frameworks.
- Developing and maintaining positive relationships with both data and research agencies to ensure we choose the right agencies for the right projects, encouraging cross agency collaboration where appropriate and ensuring briefs are clear and fit for purpose.
- Manage a team of two Insight Executives

You will need
- A number of years experience in Insight roles (either analytics or research) demonstrating ability to deliver insights and recommendations that drive a positive change in business decisions and performance.
- Experience in insight, strategy or commercial roles in a fast paced, customer facing industry.
- Commercial savviness, with a clear understanding of the market we operate in.
- Ability to translate requirements into a brief and turning key outputs from projects into strategic recommendations
- Adept at project management with a broad experience of working with research and analytical techniques to answer business questions
- Previous demonstrable experience of working with and influencing senior colleagues - Director level and above
- Passionate about food, health and sustainability.
