This is a full time (10PA) substantive replacement NHS Consultant Post in Community Sexual and Reproductive Health.

The post holder will be employed by Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (LUHFT).

The post will be based within the Warrington & Halton sexual health service.

We are seeking to recruit a Consultant with specialist skills in integrated sexual health (including Complex contraception provision & management of sexually transmitted infections).

The appointee will contribute in the clinical governance programme within the wider axess sexual health service and will have the opportunity to participate in research supported by our research lead and dedicated research nurse dependant on individuals experience and interest.

Less than full time working (LFTW) and timetable flexibility are available.

It is expected the consultant will deliver appointment clinics in integrated sexual health. The post holder would also be expected to deliver one evening clinic per week. Consultant clinics will consist of booked appointments for referrals from other members of the clinical team, or GP’s and directly booked patient appointments.

The appointee will be expected to work with the multidisciplinary team to identify clinical governance and training needs. This may involve development of local training programmes to support staff to attain appropriate FSRH or BASHH accreditation. Therefore experience motivating teams and in delivering teaching is essential.

Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust was created on 1 October 2019 following the merger of two adult acute Trusts, Aintree University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and the Royal Liverpool and Broadgreen University Hospitals NHS Trust.

The merger provides an opportunity to reconfigure services in a way that provides the best healthcare services to the city and improves the quality of care and health outcomes that patients experience.

The Trust runs Aintree University Hospital, Broadgreen Hospital, Liverpool University Dental Hospital and the Royal Liverpool University Hospital.

It serves a core population of around 630,000 people across Merseyside as well as providing a range of highly specialist services to a catchment area of more than two million people in the North West region and beyond.
