To undertake a range of sign language interpreting tasks for deaf and hearing people in a variety of settings as required To facilitate communication between users of English and BSL within a mental health setting. To provide a high level of interpreting skills Be willing to travel to other sites if needed Contribute to guidance and procedure in relation to working with interpreters in the NDCAMHS service Sight translation and interpretation of letters and information into BSL To work with other communication professionals such as; deaf intralinguals and advocates where necessary to ensure, as far as possible, that the client is able to access and understand communication and to make themselves fullyunderstood To observe all aspects of the NRCDP Code of Conduct (or equivalent) with particular regard to the maintenance of confidentiality (within the boundaries of reasonable organisational responsibility) To engage in supervision effectively and continue developing their professional role.
