An exciting opportunity has arisen for a HE Student Welfare Officer to join the Leicestershire College Learner Welfare Team, working at the Loughborough College campus, specifically working within the Higher Education department supporting Higher Education (HE) students. You will co-ordinate and deliver support to HE learners facing barriers to learning, including poor mental health and mental health illness, as well as liaising with the Learning Support Team in the co-ordination of learning support for HE learners. You will be key in raising awareness and acting as an advocate for HE learners accessing welfare support within the college and with external agencies.

You will be confident working independently and as part of a team, delivering workshops and training to HE students and staff as required.

You will work with the College’s Therapy Dogs, to ensure HE Students have full access to this support service, as well as encourage good practice for positive health, mental health and wellbeing, by assisting in the development and delivery of effective training for HE Staff and students.

You will have experience of working within an education setting, particularly with undergraduate students, and possess a flexible and solution focused approach to work. If you consistently demonstrate the positive attitudes, values and behaviours of the organisation, then we look forward to hearing from you.
