**About the role**:
The Control of Works Supervisor will contribute to the day-to-day management of logístical arrangements and control of works/permit to work procedures at the British Museum sites, with their main focus on the Bloomsbury site. This is a new site-based role, and it is envisaged that there will be an uplift in contractor activities on site as a result of Masterplan activities, and the post holder will be required to support the British Museum’s operational teams in safety coordinating and monitoring the activities of third-party contractors working on site to ensure that H&S compliance and safe working systems are in place and followed.

**Key areas of responsibility**:

- Coordination with the Permit Officer and Control of Works Coordinators to ensure delivery of a program of operational assurance and oversight to ensure that Project managers and their contractors on site are working in compliance with logístical, operational and CDM procedures. Undertaking checks to ensure CDM sites have addressed security, health and safety risks
- Support the implementation of new Control of Works and Permit to Work procedures on site
- Help champion a best practice approach amongst the Museum’s contractors and suppliers, and encourage knowledge sharing to help ensure that the highest standards of health and safety are maintained by contractors and suppliers at all times.
- Supporting the EHS safety team in continuous improvement initiatives to improve efficiency and efficacy of control of works and access procedures and arrangements.
- Manage and resolve issues with conflicting demands of shared spaces and escalate issues as appropriate, including but not limited to welfare, circulation and storage areas.
- Liaise with FM Contractors, other third-party contractors and Project Managers, Security teams in relation to planning and works on site

**About you**:
Ideally educated with A levels or equivalent, you should be able to demonstrate an interest in continued learning and/or be working towards construction/FM related health and safety qualifications.

You should have demonstrable experience in the area of construction/FM, logistics, permitting, safe systems of work.

You should have outstanding communication and stakeholder engagement skills, as well as a good working knowledge of Construction and Design Management regulatory requirements and permit to work processes.
