**Position Overview**:
We are currently seeking a highly skilled and detail oriented Finance Executive to join our team. The Finance Executive will play a key role in managing various financial functions, including purchase ledger, ledger master, credit card reconciliation, new account opening for clients, credit control, VAT returns, CIS returns, expenses, subcontractor timesheets/payments, current account reconciliation, subcontractor payment queries, month-end management accounts preparation and backup to our accounts administrator in sales ledger, bank reconciliation, month-end reconciliation, WIP sales ledger and reporting debtors to the bank.

**Responsibilities**:

- Perform calculation of timesheets and payments for subcontractors.
- Manage the purchase ledger, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of payments.
- Maintain the ledger master and handle related transactions effectively.
- Perform credit card reconciliations to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Facilitate new account opening for clients, adhering to regulatory requirements.
- Implement credit control measures to minimise financial risks.
- Prepare and submit VAT returns and CIS returns accurately and on time.
- Handle expense processing and reimbursements efficiently.
- Oversee weekly and monthly subcontractor payment queries promptly and professionally.
- Assist in month-end management accounts preparation..
- Ensure bank account balancing and resolve discrepancies.
- Provide support and back up to the accounts administrator in sales ledger tasks.
- Assist in BSF bank reconciliation and month-end reconciliation and reporting debtors to the bank.
- Manage WIP sales ledger tasks as required.

**Requirements**:

- Bachelor's degree or part qualified in Finance, Accounting or related field.
- Proven experience in a similar role, preferably in a fast paced environment.
- Strong understanding of financial principles and practices.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Ability to multitask and prioritise tasks effectively.
- Analytical mindset with problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.

**Would ideally suit someone in the St Neots, Huntingdon, Bedford area as initial on job handover/training will be in our HQ in Peterborough and there will be times we all meet up for business meetings etc.**

Pay: £24,000.00 per year
