**Job Purpose**:
**Under the line management of the School Business Manager, to work as part of the school team with the primary role of driving pupils and staff in a minibus to various school activities and events; including routine safety checks on the school vehicle.**

There may be times when it would be more efficient for the minibus driver to stay with the group of children as an extra member of staff. Under these circumstances, the member of staff would need to be briefed appropriately by the class teacher/trip organiser and would have to be arranged prior to the day of the trip.

**Duties**:
The Minibus Driver will:

- Transport children to and from school activities, educational visits and competitions;
- Adhere to all school policies, including those relating to Safeguarding, Child Protection and Health and Safety Guidelines for minibus drivers;
- Carry out safety checks, both weekly and daily, to ensure that the minibus are clean and safe before use;
- Ensure that the minibus is adequately fuelled for each journey;
- Record and monitor mileage and any faults before and after every trip
- Report any accidents/incidents to the School Business Manager;
- Ensure that the First Aid box, sick buckets etc. are checked and replenished as required;
The holder of this post must hold a current UK Driving Licence. Alternatively, the post holder may hold a HGV licence.

It is essential that the post holder does not have any drinking/drug driving convictions. When employed by the school, it is also important that any minibus driver informs the school of any driving offences that occur after employment so that the school can keep a record of these. Certain offences, and culmination of points on a licence may result in dismissal, following Bradford Council Policy.

Successful applicants may be required to do a driving test through Bradford Council, paid by school.
