**Job Purpose**
The School of Law is looking to recruit an experienced administrator to take on a key role in the delivery of learning and teaching support in our MPA team. Key job objectives are:

- to enhance the student experience by working collaboratively with the School of Law administrative teams and academic teaching staff to provide an excellent customer service.
- to provide administrative support for the processes and procedures relating to students on School of Law undergraduate programmes.
- to support School of Law students from first point of contact to graduation, including providing information, advice and front-line support service to prospective, new and continuing School of Law students. To support academic staff and colleagues involved in undergraduate programme teaching administration including the programme and course leaders. Some duties may also be cross-School and cross-programme, where synergies exist.

**Main Duties and Responsibilities**
1. Responsible for the delivery of an efficient and effective administrative service to support the School’s learning and teaching activity, including liaison with key partners both internal and external to the School.
2. Contribute to programme and course administration for the full student journey, potentially including: managing the coordination of all relevant documentation; work to support student recruitment; pre-arrival planning in collaboration with the academic teaching teams; welcoming students through the induction programme; supporting registration and enrolment; support for students registered with the Disability Service; on-course administration of programmes and courses; support for Good Cause and student conduct cases; clerking of programme boards; support for quality and academic enhancement work; and ensuring student records are maintained on MyCampus.
3. Deliver an excellent “customer experience”, using knowledge and judgement to provide first-contact resolution for general enquiries relating to learning and teaching activities across the School with mínimal supervision.
4. Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement through identifying and implementing process improvements to enhance the student and staff experience.
5. Plan and prioritise own workload, anticipating pressure points in the academic year, to ensure that deadlines are met, and an efficient service is provided to staff and students.
6. Provide administrative support to academic staff in support of School activities, developing good relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
7. Ensure full compliance with University-wide policies and procedures, including in relation to the management of confidential information and personal data.
8. As a senior administrator, support the Learning & Teaching Team Manager by supporting and mentoring other colleagues, encouraging and enhancing their knowledge, skills and experience.
9. As part of the professional services team, flexibly support the range of learning and teaching activities of the School as requested by the Learning & Teaching Team Manager, the Undergraduate Programme Director, the Director of Learning & Teaching and/or the Head of Professional Services.
10. Undertake any other relevant duties appropriate to the post/grade subsequently allocated.

**Knowledge, Qualifications, Skills and Experience**

**Knowledge/Qualifications**

**Essential**:

A1: SCQF Level 7 (HNC, VQ3/4, Highers, City & Guilds or equivalent), or the ability to demonstrate the competencies required to undertake the duties associated with the level of post, having acquired the necessary knowledge and skills in a similar role.
A2: Excellent IT knowledge, including Microsoft Office, especially MS Word and Excel.
A3: Awareness of University degree programmes and structure.

**Desirable**:

B1: Knowledge of the University systems, e.g. PIP, CMIS, MyCampus, Moodle, T4 software training.
B2: Knowledge and understanding of the University structures, policy, practices and procedures.
B3: Knowledge of Disability Awareness in the context of student support.
