We are seeking an experienced or aspiring Trading Standards officer to join us in a small, compact borough with excellent transport links, great parks and the River Thames, Westfield Shopping Centre, Olympia, the Hammersmith Apollo, three major football clubs and a city-centre IKEA. The team sits within Environmental Health & Public Protection section, and we work closely with our environmental health colleagues to deliver services to consumers and businesses, hence there are opportunities to work with colleagues in other professions to enhance work experiences.
The Trading Standards team covers a broad range of Trading Standards functions through business advice and enforcement, as well as, participating on both regional and national projects. As such a wide knowledge of trading standards legislation and investigative techniques will be required, and a dynamic and innovative approach expected. There will be the opportunity to work in a variety of roles including investigations, audits, inspections and reactive work.

**Role Responsibilities**:
- Providing high quality, sound, timely and accurate professional/technical advice, guidance and information about any work matter, to customers, colleagues, members of the public, Elected Members (Councillors), Senior Managers, solicitors, architects, surveyors and other professionals in a clear format that is understandable and appropriate.
- Properly handling evidence, records and data to ensure that confidentiality, continuity, evidence integrity, data quality, data protection and requirements for team intel are observed.
- Preparing legal cases and evidence for Court, Tribunal or other Statutory Hearing.
- Minimising any adverse impact on businesses, consumers, residents or others who might be affected by any enforcement or regulatory action taken.
