We know that studying at college and university isn’t for everyone. An apprenticeship offers you a great opportunity to gain a qualification whilst earning a wage and without accumulating the debts associated with study. Real work experience is crucial as you start to build your career and by the end of your apprenticeship you will have at least two years’ of working in a nurturing environment. We also have an excellent record of retaining our apprentices beyond their apprenticeship course, securing permanent roles for those wanting to stay in the council.

Your starting salary will be £7.49 an hour in your first year. During your second year you will remain on this amount or the minimum wage for your age, whichever is higher. We can also offer you 26 days annual leave plus bank holidays, an excellent pension and a number of discounts including gym membership.

**APPRENTICE - Early Years Assistant**

We are looking for an enthusiastic person who is kind and caring. The job will involve supporting children and practitioners in their daily tasks and assisting in the children's overall development through fun, stimulating activities.

You will be continually learning and developing on the job whilst carrying out your daily tasks and becoming part of a fantastic team.

You will work closely with the Teacher and Senior Early Years Worker to deliver effective teaching and learning opportunities for children aged 2-5 years, taking into account children’s voices and interests to enhance their learning.
