Clinic Receptionist - Suffolk Newmedica Ltd

We are one of the leading providers of NHS ophthalmology services in England, providing outpatients appointments, diagnostic testing and eye surgery. We aim to make a positive difference to people’s lives through better sight and eye health.

We have an exciting opportunity that has arisen in our Suffolk team, for a Clinic Receptionist to join the team and help us continue to deliver outstanding clinical care for our patients.

We are looking for someone who will thrive on working as part of a multidisciplinary team that includes Clinic Assistants, Ophthalmic Assistants, Patient Administrators, Nurses, ODPs, Ophthalmic Technicians, Optometrists, and Consultant Ophthalmologists. - A salary of £22,700.00

What will the role involve?
- Welcoming patients and visitors on arrival to clinic.
- Booking patient appointments and ensuring that clinics are full.
- Making reminder calls to patients before their appointment is due.
- Liaising with GP surgeries to ensure that patient data is correct, to check patient demographics and treatment pathways and to answer any clinical questions which may arise
- Management of patient data; ensuring availability, required level of accuracy and confidentiality. Updating Newmedica’s electronic patient records and producing and providing letters to patients.
- Record and file clinical outcomes in patient records
- Managing the data in Newmedica’s electronic patient records; adding, importing and archiving data to ensure that they are up to date.
- Working across multiple clinic sites; Ipswich, Bury St Edmunds and Newmarket

What skills and experience do I need for the role?

We are looking for individuals who have:

- GCSE’s in at least Maths and English
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- A good telephone manner
- Excellent organisation skills and the ability to multi-task
- Commitment to delivering consistently high standards of testing and administration
- An ability to make a significant contribution in a small team.
- An ability to balance working independently with appropriate escalation.
- Full UK driving license

No clinical knowledge is assumed (full training will be given) but intellectual curiosity is required.
