Eventus Recruitment are seeking a Group Management Accountant to join a growing Law firm based in Middlesborough. This is a full time, permanent role. You will have at least 2 years experience in a similar role. You will work closely with the Group FinancialController to review and report on the financial performance of the business.

**Role Responsibilities**
- Prepare periodic financial statements in accordance with UK GAAP
- Deliver accurate and timely financial analysis and written commentary to assist in key strategic decision making
- Proactively communicate and collaborate with stakeholders (internal and external) to analyse information needs and requirements
- Ensure Balance Sheet reconciliations are carried out in a timely manner and any differences are resolved promptly
- Play a key role in preparing annual budgets and monthly forecasting
- Advise on the financial implications and consequences of business decisions
- Offer professional judgement on financial matters and advise on ways of improving business performance
- Interpret and communicate financial data to non-financial managers
- Work with the departmental managers to better understand WIP profile, debt and disbursement management
- Assist in analysing risks and opportunities
- Monitor and evaluate financial information systems and suggest improvements where needed
- Help ensure that adequate procedures and controls are in place for the accurate production of operational performance reports, including writing procedures where needed.
- Gathering data and facts to document the current state of a given business problem and supporting with the recommendation and prioritisation of decisions made to produce a change delivery road map
- Maintain the integrity of the Company’s internal controls, processes, procedures and systems with a view to proposing amendments which support the firm’s operations and provide enhanced financial as well as management information for decision making.

**Person Specification**
- Qualified, or working towards, CIMA ACCA ACA
- A financial and management accounting background
- Service/Legal industry experience preferable but not essential
- Demonstrate technical accounting knowledge and a strong track record in statutory reporting
- Experience of articulating complex financial information in a concise, informative manner
- A strong background of implementing and managing strong financial control environments in highly regulated businesses
- Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to demonstrate results delivery
- Ability to clearly explain technical financial information to non-finance specialists
- Ability to think and plan strategically
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to work flexibly and respond to changes daily
- High Standard of IT literacy including accounting software, MS office and advanced excel skills
