To lead and manage the Formulation shift team and processes to achieve the production schedule to agreed standards of cGMP, HSE, Productivity, HR and Costs. To be a key front-line leader in the manufacturing organisation working cross functionally to develop and maintain a high performing team and develop strong working relationships with internal functions. Executes the strategic plan to consistently deliver high quality products whilst continuously driving step-change improvements aligned to site and company objectives.

Time horizon is week to week with a midterm (up to 3 to 6 months) focus.

**Responsibilities**
- Plans, organises and directs the Formulation shift teams to deliver objectives to agreed standards of HSE, cGMP, productivity and cost. Including resource management, allocation and deployment. Managing usage of contracted hours for both permanent and temporary staff.
- Accountable for shift-to-shift consistency, coordination and communications with Shift Team Leader Peers.
- Develops and maintains training for departmental teams and individuals.
- Schedules and completes regular 121’s with team members.
- Acts as cGMP/HSE production expert and coach for the Formulation production teams to maintain standards.
- Manages and continuously improves performance in schedule adherence, HSE, cGMP, productivity and cost.
- Manages and continuously improves performance in regulatory audit readiness and outcomes.
- Supports and enables the highest standards of compliance, reporting of incidents and people management / HR practices (e.g., recruitment, attendance, disciplinary, grievance and HR admin procedures.
- Co-ordinates department compliance activities to adhere to site metrics.
- Standardising work across teams/roles to avoid discrepancies using leader standard work principles.
- Coordinates or leads investigations in HSE, Quality and other loss control incidents in Formulation. Supports HSE or Quality investigations in other areas in Secondary or Primary as required.
- Attends site meetings plus present updates at designated Secondary and Site forums.
- Leads and champions changes, innovations and improvements within Formulation and any related focus areas in Secondary as required. Participates in all project teams in Formulation and Secondary.
- Runs and supports cross functional meeting processes as required in Formulation.
- Recruits, develops, trains, communicates to, and supports Formulation teams and the Secondary organisation as required.
- Manages KPIs/Visual Factory including reporting for Formulation on performance, developing and maintaining a focus on key Lead & Lag metrics leading into Gainshare.
- Supports Process Lead - deputies for meetings.

**Experience Requirements**
- Proven industry experience with extensive knowledge of cGMP.
- Proven experience of managing a shift team in a pharmaceutical, biotechnology, biological or highly regulated industry.
- Highly knowledgeable in formulation area processes, demonstrating proven competence in aseptic operations.
- Competent in the daily use of computer systems, e.g., SAP, GLIMS, PCS, MES.
