Job Introduction
Media Management Scotland department is part of the Commissioning division within BBC Scotland and is responsible for managing and tracking media throughout the production lifecycle and ensuring that content is archived for current and future audiences.

The role is part of a multi-skilled pool of archivists who support BBC Scotland's media management and archiving requirements in the content production areas.

This role is focused on BBC Scotland's news content and output and reports to the Archive Operations Manager.

Main Responsibilities
The main responsibility of the roll is the selection, capture and cataloguing of BBC Scotland, BBC Alba and BBC Radio Scotland news content for archive.

Footage selections and edits. You must have basic editing abilities. Experience of using Avid suite products, including Avid Media Composer, is desirable.

The role requires quick response to footage requests. Knowledge of BBC Archive holdings is desirable.

The provision of a full and comprehensive enquiry service for internal colleagues, independent production companies and external customers.

You will be expected to participate in, or lead, ad-hoc projects as required.

Previous experience of working in a news media library environment would be advantageous.

You should have an awareness of BBC output with particular attention to BBC Scotland's news output.

We require excellent organisational skills and good judgement in assessing work priorities.

Excellent IT skills and experience of database systems are essential for this role.

The ability to demonstrate strong communication skills.

You will have experience in working in an operational, support or customer-facing role, working under pressure to meet strict deadlines whilst having the flexibility to assist, and cover for, colleagues.
