**Post**: Admin Assistant Compass Medical Practice
**Location**: Newfield House, Vicarage Ln, Blackpool FY4 4EW
**Hours**: 21 hours to include 18:30 finish - Fixed term until 31stDecember 2023
Compass Medical Practice is open from 08.00 - 18.30 Monday to Friday (excluding Bank Holidays)
**Responsible to**:Practice Manager
**Accountable to**: Head of Complex Lives
**Rate of Pay**:£10.69
**Job Purpose**:To work as part of Compass Medical Practice team providing administrative and telephony support services for patients who have been excluded from mainstream GP Practices. The role involves working closely with the Practice Manager to ensure all areas of the service are implemented each day.

**Role**
The role involves a range of tasks including answering the phone, arranging appointments, handling patient data e.g. redacting information, processing Subject Access Requests, maintaining accurate notes on the computerised Patient Administration System EMIS, liaising with a range of health care professions across different locations in the North of England, booking patient facing venues, and supporting the Compass Medical Practice clinicians.
**The post holder will**:
- Complete an E-Consult triage with all patients presenting with a clinical need
- Use EMIS system book patient appointments, record information, complete patient related tasks and update patient records
- Liaise with a range of health care professionals both internal and external
- Record information on IT systems, spreadsheets, paper records
- Undertake a wide range of admin duties including printing, photocopying, scanning, processing information and requests, tagging, acknowledging and complaints, comments and enquiries and processing Subject Access Requests
- Inputting data onto the computer systems, setting up computer diaries
- Maintain a clean and confidential workplace
- Adhere to policies and procedures of the company and keep up to date with any changes
- Contribute to patient risk assessments
- Coordinating appointments, arranging venues and liaising with the Patient Liaison Officers
- Complete mandatory training
- Attend the daily huddle (when on duty)
**Educational**
The post holder is required to:

- ensure confidentiality on all matters relating to patients and information obtained during the course of employment and not to release such information to anyone other than those acting in an official capacity as instructed
- maintain good relationships with other members of the staff team across all disciplines
- contribute to the identification of own training needs and participate in relevant in-service training
- attend staff meetings and training as required

Experience of working with customers and / or patients

Experience of working as an administrator in a health care setting
Working knowledge of EMIS IT system

**QUALIFICATIONS**

Educated to GCSE/O Level standard or above
IT literate
**DESIRABLE**
GCSE/O Level English and Maths
EDCL or equivalent
NVQ in business administration or equivalent
