Lancaster, United Kingdom Community Foster Care Full time

**About Community Foster Care**

Community Foster Care is a Therapeutic Independent Foster Agency. We are also a charity with an important history based on principles of social justice and the power of communities. The children and young people Community Foster Care works with have experience relational and developmental trauma. These experiences lead to the presentation of multiple complexities, which require the love, security and sense of belonging provided by a nurturing family. These families need to be resilient, highly skilled and well supported. We believe it takes a community to raise a child. As a therapeutic agency, we are exploring key approaches to refine how to achieve our vision.

**Approaches**

We use 3 core principles in our work with children and families:

- Practice informed by psychodynamic and systemic approaches, attachment theory, and social justice.
- A reflective culture
- Collaborative and relational based working

These approaches require all the people that work as part of this community to be:

- Alignment with CFC core values.
- Prepared to bring your true and best self to work.
- Mentally and physically resilient.

Ability to think about what you did well and what you could have done better and how this impacted on you and others.

Ability to mentalise, to put themselves in other’s shoes.

Prepared to be open to challenges from others.

Willing to tolerate significant exposure from professional network and remain engaged as a team player with them.

Commitment to engage Therapeutic parenting approaches.

Committed to ongoing personal development and training.

Minded collaborating with other in and across teams

**Our Vision**

A world where all children and young people grow up in families rich in the essential ingredients required for them to realise their ambitions and dreams.

**Role Summary**

Our starting point is to build belief in our target audiences that they can be effective in our core task of fostering children, with the support of our community. You will use a range of sophisticated communication methods along their journey to achieve this.

**Key drivers of considerations**

As a Content and Engagement Officer, you will at all times:

You will ensure that you understand in detail the process of becoming a foster parent, starting right back at the initial conception. Working with the marketing manager and social work team you will design an engagement journey, which supports the engagement of these families and builds on their potential to undertake the task.

You will develop, commission and revise a varied and coherent set of engagement tools to support this transition from conception to successful fostering career.

You will have strong story telling skills, enabling you to present a clear tangible story of CFC, in manageable blocks, leading to a well-articulated and clear picture of the whole.
