**Job Title**

Sales Team Member

We have two fixed shifts available in Cwmbran and a further two shifts in our Newport store. in total these would be around 28 hours per week plus extra to cover holidays etc.

**Key Objectives**

We want every customer of A.G.Meek to leave delighted with their shopping experience and excited to come again,

**Main purpose of job**

You have the very important role of welcoming and serving customers.

You provide them with all the fitting help, the guidance, and the information about our products that they need to make their buying choice.

You help maintain the shop displays in an attractive and useful form so customers can find selection easier and you keep the stock in order so that your other team members can serve our customers quickly and meet our sales targets.

You will also share in all tasks necessary to keep a safe, hygienic and pleasant work environment for your team.

You will have a number of fixed shifts on weekdays and will be required to work shifts on some Saturdays and shifts on extra days to cover the holidays of other team members.

**Key Tasks**
- To engage with customers in a positive and professional manner. Find out their requirements and show them products that will match these requirements. Helping with fitting and advice as appropriate.
- When required, deal with refunds and complaints in a positive and helpful way that is beneficial to the customer and to Meek’s
- To assist in keeping the stock in order to enable quick and efficient service
- Maintain the shop floor displays so they are up to date, attractive and helpful to customers at all times and meet the promotional objectives of the company
- To deal with deliveries and stock transfers, in and out, efficiently and correctly in accordance with our procedures, so that the stock database is as accurate and helpful as possible
- Ensure that stock is put away correctly and effectively to enable efficient service to customers and staff safety
- Comply with the day to day health and safety policy of the company
- Work towards the achievement of set sales targets

**Competencies, skills and experiences**:

- You enjoy talking to customers and try to understand what they want to meet their needs.
- You have a good knowledge of the current products we have in stock with an understanding of their properties and benefits to the customer.
- You have a smart appearance and a good sense of style so that you give our customers confidence in our products your guidance and their actual choices
- You are fit and healthy enough to serve customers and assist them with fitting
- You are comfortable with handling computerized tills and stock databases
- You possess attention to detail, and the ability to work under pressure, open minded and flexible
- You are able to learn and adapt quickly in a fast paced environment
- You are fluent in English with good verbal and written communication skills so you can communicate easily with customers and your team members.

**Responsible for**
- The provision of excellent customer service
- The appearance of the shop floor and Windows
- The handling of the computerized till and stock database
- The accurate processing of deliveries and internal stock transfers to ensure that the stock database is as accurate as possible
- The Maintenance of the stock rooms in a tidy and orderly manner
- Following the companies Health and Safety policies

**Reporting to**

You report to your Team Leader and work closely with the other team member and office staff to ensure the efficient running of our company

**Job Types**: Part-time, Permanent

Pay: £10.00-£11.50 per hour

Expected hours: 14 - 30 per week
