**Role purpose**

As a Legal Assistant you will be working in a demanding environment where your quick thinking, strong work ethic, attention to detail and accuracy are vital attributes.

The Residential Property department is a busy team and is looking for a Legal Assistant to provide administrative support. You will need to develop a broad understanding of legal matters, client requests and the demands of your team.

**Key responsibilities**

In line with policies and procedures key responsibilities include:

- File opening
- Client care letters
- Logging information onto new CMS
- Requesting redemption figures
- Issuing contract packs
- Ordering searches
- Giving general updates
- General drafting (e.g. transfer deeds, notice of assignment, search and mortgage reports etc)
- General administrative duties
- Correspondence including exchange and completion letters
- Pre-completion searches
- Drafting SDLT forms
- Setting up completions

**Person specification**
- Experience in residential property
- Personal effectiveness and self-management
- Good communication skills with colleagues, clients and third parties
- Excellent organisational and team skills
- Good attention to detail
- Flexible and dependable, able to take the initiative
- Able to remain calm under pressure and work to tight deadlines
- Conscientious, approachable and enthusiastic
- Able to quickly build confidence, respect and trust with others

**Technical knowledge**
- Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe
- Ideally knowledge of case management system
